New Year: Random Acts of Kindness

We’ve all heard the terms “Random Acts of Kindness” and “Pay it Forward” in recent years. But what if we made it a New Year’s resolution to introduce this type of thinking in our daily lives? Sure, 2020 has given us many challenges and you may have other things in mind but add this to the list if you are able.

While I generally don’t make New Year’s resolutions (it’s more like nice thoughts on what I’d like to accomplish), wouldn’t this one be incredible if we all stepped in to try to make this world a little better for each other? I’m not talking about big things, I’m talking about small things, each day, to help someone else.

It could be as simple as slightly adjusting your habits, like leaving additional change in the vending machine for the next person to use (who might be short) or letting the elderly woman behind you go in front of you in the line at the store. It’s simple things that will make a meaningful difference.

What would happen if you and your family committed to doing one act of kindness each day for a year? That’s the concept of a book I recently found and I’m so excited to dig in each day to discover new ideas.

As it states in the book:

Our world desperately needs more kindness. Whether it’s on social media, in the news, or between your arguing kids it can seem like conflict and disconnection are everywhere. But imagine how much better life would be if we got intentional about being kind!

This year embark on a journey to make kindness a part of your life, home, and soul. In The One Year Daily Acts of Kindness Devotional, you’ll find Scripture passages and inspirational personal stories about why God calls us to show kindness, what it means to live a life of generosity, and how you can incorporate kindness into your everyday routine (and teach it to your kids) with tons of simple, easy-to-do ideas.

Show your world the kind of love that is possible with daily acts of kindness that will change your heart, inspire your family, and draw you closer to God.

I hope you will join me in this simple effort that will make such a meaningful impact in the lives of others, most that we’ll never know. Our world could use a little more compassion and it’s up to each of us to deliver that.

So, I’m going to start with my first act of kindness here. The first person to email us asking for their own copy of the book will receive it! I want to pay it forward to share new ideas with you on your journey. I’m wishing you many blessings in 2021 and I hope this encourages you!

Well, that’s all I have for now.
